New Year's Resolution

So every year we all wait until the 1st to make all of our big dramatic changes and throw out all the bad and try again for the new and clean slate.

I generally like to always wake up and put all my energy into being better than I was the day before. Realistic goals...plus I think that more is accomplished with shorter goals. A year can be along time for some...the whole 365 days could seem to be a life time for others.

With that said....I welcome you 2016 and everything you have to offer. I hope to accomplish more this year than I did last year. Stay more focused. Spend time with those who truly matter. I don;t say that as others being less important. I say that as in "I WILL ONLY SURROUND MYSELF WITH THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO CELEBRATE LIFE WITH ME AND LIFT ME HIGHER"!

"I closed the year with great people. Family and loved ones. I thank God for waking me up next to my children in this new year. The world gets crazier by the day so this is truly a blessing that some of us our deprived...just simply waking up next to our children."
I learned so many lessons last year and over came some of the hardest test by the grace of God. I learned what it meant to be grateful and humble all over again. I witnessed true compassion and love from those I did't even know existed. I discovered that even through all the madness that is going on in this world right now, that it is still a beautiful place with beautiful people still in it.

My New Year's Resolutions:

  • Read the Quran every day
  • Pray minimum 5 times a day
  • Forgive all those that cause me grief
  • Focus more on achieving my own goals
  • Make more time for friends
  • Learn to say No more!

I hope everyone has a blessed and prosperous New Year!!!!

I've been a little MIA

I have been a little MIA since I returned from India at the beginning of the year. What I thought to have been jet-lag or the flu...turned out I had a little gem in the oven!

Blessed with a little boy! Couldn't be anymore excited. I will now be able to venture out into the baby-fashion scene.

It took a few months to get the hang of all the body changes but I am embracing my bump daily.

I will be posting some of my pregnancy fashion tips over the next few months. What to and not to buy!

Dressing for INDIA

So I have a 15 day business trip to India and will have some down time to site see. I wanted to make sure I had enough clothes but not seem as if I was moving. I had to had professional and casual attire.

I chose to stick to one color palate so I could swap out pieces to make new outfits.

CHRISTMAS PARTY LOOK

Holidays are the best...we spare no expense to get all dressed up...pull out the sparkling and fur from the back of the closet. Metallic accessories with sequins and beading galore.

My favorite looks always including mixing the new and the old or for better words, wearing the old a new way.
I absolutely love the black and god combination. I added red lips and nails with red stones in my earrings for that holiday touch of color. Wearing all different textures really pulls the look together.

JACKET: Grandma's Vintage hand-me-down
TOP: Forever 21
SKIRT: TJ Maxx
HANDBAG: Gifted Vintage
GLOVES: TJ Maxx

TIS THE SEASON TO WEAR PLAID

Absolutely my favorite time of the year. All the lights and cold weather. Cinnamon and apple smells in the air from all the baking. Layering and sweaters with holiday parties and family time. We are starting off the season with a few FESTIVE looks.

Tis the season to wear plaid!
We've mixed up a few looks for the Casual Chic lady and the
Sophisticated lady.
